Flight Cancellation

On April 17, 2010 four consumers had to travel with flight W6 649 from Venice, Italy. Because of the volcano eruption in Iceland the flight was cancelled. The Hungarian airline company rechecked the tickets of the four passangers for the next day. In addition, the starting point of the flight was changed to Rome, Italy. Later, the passangers were informed that the alternative flight was also cancelled. Assitance related to providing food, beverages, opportunity for two telephone calls, according to Directive 261/2004 was not provided to the passangers  and infrmation for  the next possible flights was not offered to them. The consumer made many extra expenses to return to his country. After a complaint has been made in ECC Bulgaria, the case was referred to be handeled in coorperation with ECC Hungary. After the intervention of the two centers, the trader compensated the consumers with the sum of 877,61 euro. The case was solved in 59 days.
